Carpet Question: Which carpet is the best to use for a cold (South facing) and dark bedroom.  I need a carpet with sufficient heat insulation and one that reflects some light but not to light to show dirt easy.  What type of underlay is the best for the best insulation - I heard about rubber?  This room is large and very cold!

Answer:  I would suggest you look at a wool carpets. Wool carpets retain heat in winter and push heat out in Summer.
They're like the smart phone of carpets. You do get a latex carpet underlay called airtread. Airtread is much more hygienic, it doesn't trap as much dust as your standard under felt. It also doesn't retain as much moisture when cleaning. We do have a branch in honeydew where you can also view the various carpet ranges.
